Frequently asked questions

  • We are a non-profit organization seeking to rally artists and creators to spark conversations that foster personal growth, resilience, and a positive life perspective for young minds.

  • For SHORT FILMS – create a short film (8 minutes max), any genre, that focuses on anything mental health related and fits the theme “making the invisible visible.”

For STILL MEDIA - create a piece that fits the same theme. We will accept any printable form of still media: photography, painting, digital art,* etc.

*note: if utilizing generative AI in your piece, you MUST disclose this. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

  • Absolutely! So long as your piece meets the contest requirements, you are welcome to submit an already finished work.

  • Yes! The Strong Mind Project does not own the copyright to your submitted work. However, by submitting, you are permitting us to distribute it on our website, social media, and of course, at the Showcase itself if you are a finalist.

  • We want to spark conversation, so we plan to use just about every submission to do that. The Showcase will feature in-person screenings and displays of winning work, but almost all qualifying submissions will be featured on our website in some capacity at a later date. This is why we have you submit an artist’s statement with your submission; we want YOUR voice in this conversation.

  • All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm EST on September 22nd
